I'll admit... I'm not a big shopper...but when Tonna Galla called to announce the opening of her shop, "Blue Ridge Primitives" in Floyd at our Northside complex, I knew it was something I wouldn't want to miss!

Even on Friday night, the eve of the opening, I saw her wonderful lights which were a part of the "outside decorations", and I could appreciate all the work that has gone into this very exciting and important day.

As planned, I made the Saturday morning visit.  Customers were already browsing the "stock" and consulting with Cathy Collins, Blue Ridge Primitives associate, who was giving great advice, like I'll hope to take advantage of later.  They held a prize drawing for a doll and candle, so I was happy to place my ticket in one of those fine wooden bowls--hopefully, I'll receive a happy call later.

This Cracker Barrel-esque shop is tastefully done and there are offerings sure to please Floyd's variety of consumers: crafts, home decor, quilts, lights and ornaments. The enthusiasm of the ladies running the place could be a real indicator of the future there.

I know I'll be back-- I'll need some wall hangings in my new home and placemats for my table...

Developing Dreams,
Dee
